Karim Jerbi 7c91f5835e feat(blocks): edit action selections and refresh evaluated references
Add BACTIONSET and the Block Editor Action Selection ribbon entry. Pick or preselect an action, replace/add/remove its drawing targets, or redefine a Stretch frame while preserving the native action and graph identity.

Retain existing Stretch vertex bindings during target edits and bind new targets against the stored frame. Allow removing invalid bindings or rebuilding them through a replacement frame. Rebuild evaluated references at their independent cached values so removed targets lose old action effects, with local undo, discard and one drawing save delta.

Validate synthetic native DWG/DXF roundtrips, shared COPY representations, stale-result guards, reference geometry refresh, frame/cancel/history and the real ribbon flyout. 347 block tests pass (6 existing opt-in ignored), plus 42 dock and 27 viewport tests.

Karim Jerbi 1ee432ac64 fix(blocks): reopen evaluated references in their authoring definition
Resolve BEDIT reference entry through the native dynamic-definition link instead of editing the anonymous geometry variant. Preserve static-block fallback and existing lock/xref checks.

Add synthetic regressions for evaluated-reference DWG reload and save/close/reedit, plus Rotation-only save/close/reopen followed by Flip placement. Validated with 334 block tests passing (6 existing opt-in tests ignored).

Hakan SevenandClaude Opus 5.5 56861aa0bc Escape DGN text in MTEXT and read 3D text by its byte count
Backslashes and braces in a DGN text stay characters in the MTEXT it
becomes instead of turning into formatting codes.

A 3D V8 text is cut at its stored byte count before it is decoded, so a
multi-byte character no longer shifts where the text ends.

Doc comments that had slipped onto the wrong functions are back on
their own, comments describe the behaviour instead of pointing at
another program, and a few lines added in the previous commits are laid
out the way the rest of the code is.

Hakan SevenandClaude Opus 5.5 a0ed20df28 Fix IMPORT naming, messages and 3D Studio limits
STEP assemblies: a link that closes a loop in the assembly is dropped,
so no block inserts itself; the walk is iterative. Each imported block
gets a name the drawing does not use yet instead of silently reusing an
existing definition, inserts are pointed at the names the blocks got,
and an insert of a block that could not be defined is left out with
the error reported.

Names that come from files (STEP products, 3D Studio objects, materials
and cameras, WMF font faces) go through a new shared
scene::sanitized_table_name, which applies the block-name rules
(reserved and control characters, 255 characters).

3D Studio: meshes with more vertices than a polyface mesh can index are
split over several meshes. Single-layer mode uses the current layer.
Materials are only created when the drawing has a material dictionary.
Camera views get the current view's proportions and the perspective
flag.

Messages show paths as given, the file-not-found and read-failure
messages are plain text of our own, and the "Press Esc" line is gone
since the import cannot be cancelled. The true-colour packing is
shared. "Select ACIS File" and "Import WMF" get catalog entries and
keys in all 22 locales.

Hakan SevenandClaude Opus 5.5 ed4dc91670 Keep DGN reference attachments and cell instances well-formed
Plain -DGNIMPORT no longer writes drawings next to referenced files on
its own: references are ignored unless the window (or the kept import
settings) asks to translate them or attach them as underlays.

A referenced file named relative to the host is looked up in the host's
folder rather than the working directory. Its translated drawing takes
a file name made from the model name with path separators and other
reserved characters replaced, so it is always written in the
reference's own folder. A reference placed in sub units is scaled by the
same factor as its origin.

Layer, block, text style and reference names read from the file are
made valid symbol names (reserved characters become underscores).

An instance of a cell that has no block (the point display cell, an
empty or missing definition) is dropped instead of inserting a block
that does not exist.

"Prompt to overwrite" still keeps an existing translated drawing; the
code now says so instead of implying a prompt.

ramox81andClaude Opus 5.5 78e429732e IMPORT: 3D Studio files
A .3ds file opens the 3D Studio Import window: the file's objects with
their kind and material count, filtered by kind or name, checked one by
one or all at once, where to put them on layers and what a mesh with
several materials becomes. Checked meshes come in as polyface meshes on
the chosen layers with materials made from the file's colours, cameras
as named views; a mesh with several materials is split, given its first
material, given none, or asked about on the command line. Automation
drives the window with tds_import_dialog.

Karim Jerbi f69aefc3df feat(block-editor): author Move and Scale actions with Test Block evaluation
Add BACTION/BACTIONTOOL workflows for compatible parameter endpoints, selected geometry and native action markers. Persist Move/Scale records, target handles and evaluation graph bindings; reuse shared adjacency editing with Lookup and the existing palette, tooltips and selection UI.

Evaluate endpoint changes in the disposable Test Block document from immutable starting geometry, with geometry/grip undo, source isolation and transformed-reference support. Preserve visibility representations and their native Basepoint anchor. Refuse unsupported options, value constraints and shared test references.

This milestone supports default Move and uniform Scale on basic drawing entities. Other actions, custom options, live preview and ordinary drawing-reference evaluation remain pending.

Validation: self-contained synthetic DWG/DXF roundtrips, graph adjacency, command cancellation/history, Test Block isolation/undo, transformed references, visibility/Basepoint and real-view palette/viewport input checks; broader block and dock suites.

Keep action object selection active across mouse picks/removals and advance only on Enter. Cover empty selection, multiple targets, Shift removal, marker placement and Move/Scale Test Block evaluation using viewport mouse events. Verified 10 focused, 320 block and 39 dock tests (6 existing opt-in block checks ignored).

Karim Jerbi 10c5a9d382 feat(block-editor): author Lookup tables and wire Basepoint insertion
Add native Basepoint placement and relocation, shared insertion and Test Block anchor behavior, and attribute-safe coordinate reframing. Wire native Lookup parameter placement and the Property Lookup Table editor through the existing palettes and BLOOKUPTABLE.

Stage input columns, rows, reverse lookup and audit across multiple tables; apply all drafts atomically as one undo entry. Persist native Lookup actions and graph dependencies while preserving unrelated objects and IDs. New inputs cover Linear and Polar distances; reference Lookup evaluation and geometry actions remain separate work.

Pin codec c418d92, kernel 0f6f225 and graph dcb9eda for correct R2010 inline constraint-group decoding. The codec regression uses a checked-in synthetic DWG and reproducible generator, with normal self-contained loading and edited DWG/DXF tests. Keep dock control tests independent of scene adapter warning dialogs in software snapshots.

Validation covers native round trips, all 17 research fixtures, graph preservation, insertion and attributes, staged editing, undo/cancel, and real palette/dialog controls.

ramox81andClaude Opus 5.5 659bb06cd6 IMPORT: read SAT, STEP, IGES and WMF files; ACISIN and WMFIN
ACIS text files come in one object per body (3DSOLID, REGION or SURFACE).
STEP B-rep models become a block per product with component inserts at
their placements, scaled to the drawing's units; IGES manifold solids come
in as 3DSOLIDs scaled to the drawing's units with their colours. Splines
that are exactly analytic shapes are kept as those shapes. Windows
metafiles become a WMF<n> block of polylines and text fitted to half the
view, placed at its top-left corner or by WMFIN's insertion prompts. The
Import File window lists the four formats as supported.

Hakan SevenandClaude Opus 5.5 04b2c07a38 Use the codec audit and repair in place of OCS's corruption guard
Opening a drawing no longer drops entities with its own sanity checks or
rewrites knotless splines; recovery runs the codec's repair and records
its actions and unresolved issues in the drawing's notifications. Xref
merges keep every entity. The dropped-entity counts, their command-line
warnings, recovery report rows and the automation "purged" field go with
the guard.

AUDIT now reports the codec's audit (counts plus the first 50 issues) and
asks whether to fix; Yes applies the codec repair as one undo step.

ramox81andClaude Opus 5.5 2eb60f333f fix(pdfshxtext): reference grouping, object share, wider glyph set, drawing-order import
Text blocks join side by side or stacked within two heights; oversized
shapes join no group; the group share counts selected objects; Latin-1,
Latin Extended, Greek, Cyrillic and the diameter sign are compared from
the font's own glyphs with look-alikes resolved to the lowest code; a lone
circle reads 0; MTEXT direction is by style. PDFIMPORT keeps drawing order.

Hakan SevenandClaude Opus 5.5 e4d04ef132 Cargo: codec e023bc3 (acadrust sync), kernel abca4e8, graph c63556f
The codec now holds wide EntityType variants boxed (MText, Helix,
Dimension, Hatch, Viewport, MultiLeader, Surface, Table, Ole2Frame,
Light, Extended). Constructors box their entity; nested patterns reach
a dimension through entities::dimension::as_dimension(_mut). Also
follows BlockAction::action_ids, LineTypeComplexData::source_flags and
the decimal tab stop with an explicit character.

Hakan SevenandClaude Opus 5.5 218150c76a fix(clipboard): copied XDATA keeps its application in another drawing
EED names its application by APPID handle. Copying between drawings
(paste, COPYTO, block palette insert, REFEDIT) kept the source
drawing's handles, so the saved DWG named APPIDs it did not have and
the reference program refused to open it (xdata.cpp eInvalidInput).
The copy now carries the APPID records its XDATA names, registers the
missing ones, and re-points the EED at them.

COPYTO also skipped every layer the target lacked (the check tested
the source) and filled the target with the whole linetype catalog; it
now copies the missing layers and loads only the linetypes used.

Hakan SevenandClaude Opus 5.5 9a567d4f44 fix(linetype): an opened drawing keeps exactly its own linetypes (#1826)
Opening a drawing added all 50 catalog linetypes to it, so PURGE found
and removed them again after every save and reopen. Opening now only
repairs the catalog linetypes a drawing already has. The linetype
pickers (layers, properties, ribbon, attribute editor, layer states)
offer the missing catalog ones after the drawing's own, and the one
picked, or named in LINETYPE SET, is loaded on first use.

Hakan SevenandClaude Opus 5.5 091331f3bd fix(blocks): a dynamic block copied to another drawing stays dynamic (#1816)
Only the definition's entities crossed drawings: its record's object
graph (parameters, visibility states, grips) stayed behind, and a
reference showing an evaluated copy lost the link to its definition.
The clipboard now captures the graph and the dynamic definition of an
evaluated reference, and paste and the block palette's insert-from-file
recreate them on the new records, re-pointing members and element tags.

Hakan SevenandClaude Opus 5.5 19cc2e1073 fix(render): colour-7 solid edges contrast with a layout's paper
A solid's edges and silhouettes were drawn in its face colour, and the
edge shader read that from the material instead of the edge vertices.
Colour 7 is white, so in Wireframe 2D a solid vanished white-on-white in
a layout viewport (and on a light model background), while wires and
block solids already turned black there. Solids now keep a separate
edge colour, colour 7 turned against the background they are drawn on,
and the edge shader uses the edge vertices' colour again, which also
brings back visual-style edge colours. Shaded faces keep their colour
so they still read as lit. (#1446)

Karim Jerbi 72c762e944 feat(block-editor): wire Rotation, Alignment and Flip parameter placement
Enable the existing palette rows and BPARAMETER choices. Rotation accepts a
center, picked or numeric radius, and picked or numeric default angle.
Alignment places a tangent direction from its base point. Flip places a
reflection line and state label, with native grip and state expressions.

Extend shared graph append/capacity checks for Flip's additional state node
while preserving existing subgraphs. Keep Polar/Rotation angle labels unique
in either placement order. Add editor graphics, extents and definition
reframing through the existing overlay/history/save paths.

This milestone implements native parameter placement and persistence.
Rotate/Flip action association, reference alignment/grip editing, parameter
property editing and parameter sets remain separate work.

Validation covers command and palette placement, cancellation, local/parent
undo, save/discard, native DWG/DXF objects, existing graph preservation and
the 17 research fixtures. Broader block/dock regressions and editor renders
are also checked.

Karim Jerbi 6dab5a7229 feat(block-editor): wire Linear, Polar and XY parameter placement
Enable the three existing palette rows and BPARAMETER choices. Pick a base,
endpoint and label location to create the appropriate native parameter, one
end grip and its location expressions in the shared authoring graph.

Render editor dimensions and labels, preserve them when reframing the block,
and include them in editor extents. Reuse local undo/redo, save/discard and
native DWG/DXF persistence. Reject incomplete or invalid placement without
changing document data or history.

This milestone implements parameter placement. Action association/evaluation,
parameter property editing, alternate grip counts and parameter sets remain
separate work.

Validation: focused placement and palette interaction checks; Block Editor and
dock regressions; native append and DWG/DXF round trips in all 17 research
fixtures, preserving existing graph data and source files; app-view renders.
2026-10-15 16:00:15 +01:00
Karim Jerbi cdfb4ed632 feat(block-editor): add native Point parameter placement
Enable Point in Authoring Palettes and BPARAMETER. Pick parameter and label
positions, then create the native Point, XY grip and position expressions in
one undo transaction. Draw editor-only markers and clear placement previews.

Share graph append construction with Visibility so both types coexist in
either order. Allocate node, expression and edge IDs independently; preserve
existing objects, nodes and relationships and reject malformed/opaque graphs.

Reframe parameter, label and grip with the edited definition. Include authoring
positions in editor framing while keeping reference geometry extents unchanged.
Retain save/discard and parent saved-edit undo. Action association/evaluation
and parameter property editing remain separate milestones.

Validation: 10 targeted, 286 block and 60 dock checks passed (overlapping
filters). Appending a Point to an existing native graph passed DWG/DXF
roundtrips in all 17 local fixtures; old objects and original checksums stayed
unchanged. Real-view palette interaction and rendered marker/label verified.

Karim Jerbi daa26007f9 feat(block-editor): add functional Visibility ribbon controls
Add the current-state selector, Visibility States dialog and mode/show/hide
controls to the contextual ribbon, using shared icons, tooltips, modal UI
and adaptive flyouts. Disable the controls until a Visibility parameter exists.

Stage state creation, rename, deletion, current-state changes and reordering
until OK. Support copied, show-all and hide-all new states in one undo step,
preserve native graph metadata, and restore current-state identity on undo/redo.

Implement nonsaved BVMODE and display-only reveal during BVSHOW selection.
Cancelling selection leaves saved visibility flags and history unchanged.
Keep the existing command-line state workflows available.

Validation: 6 targeted tests; 277 block, 31 app dock, 35 ribbon and 12 history
checks passed (overlapping filters). All 17 local DWG fixtures passed in-memory
DWG/DXF preservation checks with unchanged original checksums.
2026-10-15 15:08:21 +01:00
Karim Jerbi 308990e672 feat(block-editor): wire Visibility parameter placement
Milestone 1: enable Parameters > Visibility and add interactive
BPARAMETER VISIBILITY placement using the existing native visibility
parameter, grip and state engine. Bare BPARAMETER currently offers only
Visibility; other parameter, action and set entries remain unavailable.

Show the placed parameter in the editor and support cancel, local undo/
redo, save/discard and saved-edit undo. Bind placement to its document
and definition, reject duplicates and invalid points, and protect existing
authoring graphs from replacement.

Keep visibility parameters and their grips aligned with geometry when a
BEDIT UCS change reframes the definition, including parameter-only blocks.

Validation: 9 targeted tests, 272 block checks and 58 dock checks passed
(overlapping groups). All 17 local DWG fixtures passed in-memory DWG/DXF
placement roundtrips and graph-preservation checks; originals unchanged.

ramox81andClaude Opus 5.5 f29f386148 import: IMPORT window and DGNIMPORT converting DGN models to drawing objects
The DGN V7/V8 readers expose each element (level, symbology, geometry,
complex chains, text nodes, shared cells). DGNIMPORT / -DGNIMPORT convert a
model with the Standard mapping into a new drawing; IMPORT opens the
Import File window and routes PDF and DGN files to their importers.

ramox81andClaude Opus 5.5 4e4dc86908 TXT2MTXT: combine text into MText, with its settings dialog
TEXT and MTEXT objects are merged into one MTEXT (top-down or in
selection order, word-wrapped or one paragraph per object, with the
original pitch kept as line spacing) or each TEXT and MTEXT line becomes
an MTEXT of its own. The SEttings option opens the Combine Text settings
dialog; the settings persist as profile values and are exposed as the
TXT2MTXT* variables and the txt2mtxt_settings automation action.

Hakan SevenandClaude Opus 5.5 aa3b667110 Follow-ups to #1803, #1805 and #1806
- Block Attribute Manager: the error band's dismiss button is the close
icon, not a "×" glyph the web build may not have.
- Two signatures wrapped to the 100-column limit.
- MCP tool schema digest updated for the new `block_def_dialog` and
  `attman_dialog` actions.
- Measurement docs: MEASUREGEOM's Quick mode.

ramox81andClaude Opus 5.5 91624354c8 PDFIMPORT: command-line file import, viewport measure scale, curve recognition
PDFIMPORT follows FILEDIA and -PDFIMPORT asks for the file, page,
insertion point, scale and rotation on the command line. A page with a
viewport measure is imported in its measured units. Straight polylines
that trace arcs, circles and ellipses, and runs of circular Bezier arcs
on one circle, become those objects; other Bezier curves become one
SPLINE each.

Karim Jerbi 16d3fd80f8 feat(block-editor): add authoring palette UI
Add a dockable Block Editor palette with selectable Parameters, Actions,
Parameter Sets and Constraints pages, reusing shared dock controls, icons
and ribbon-style hover bubbles.

Parameters, Actions, Parameter Sets and Block Properties Table are UI
catalogs only. Their entries remain disabled; this commit does not add
parameter placement, dynamic action behavior, parameter-set authoring or
block properties table functionality.

The Constraints page connects its geometric and dimensional entries to
existing ribbon commands. It reuses their implementations and adds no new
constraint behavior.

Keep the palette specific to BEDIT and retain its placement and selected
page across closing/reopening and Test Block. Opening, closing, switching
pages and clicking disabled entries preserve the document, undo history
and any running command.

Validation: 7 palette tests, 57 dock checks and 46 ribbon checks passed
(overlapping groups); rendered pages inspected and native debug build passed.

Karim Jerbi f3973f08a7 fix(bedit): optimize block editor close and preserve warm render caches
Avoid rebuilding derived caches and clearing tessellation memos when closing the block editor on clean exit or discard. Scope entity delta computation to block record members instead of scanning and cloning the entire drawing, and add a fast path to the dirty check when no local commands were executed.

Hakan SevenandClaude Opus 5.5 cccea4008b ucs: dynamic UCS on planar solid faces
With dynamic UCS on (UCSDETECT 1, toggled with F6), a command's first
point picked on a planar face of a solid sets the UCS to that face for
the rest of the command, so 2D commands draw on the face (#1711). An
unsnapped first point lands on the face itself; a snapped point off the
face's plane belongs to other geometry and leaves the UCS alone. The
previous UCS comes back when the command ends. UCS commands themselves
are left out.
