A .3ds file opens the 3D Studio Import window: the file's objects with
their kind and material count, filtered by kind or name, checked one by
one or all at once, where to put them on layers and what a mesh with
several materials becomes. Checked meshes come in as polyface meshes on
the chosen layers with materials made from the file's colours, cameras
as named views; a mesh with several materials is split, given its first
material, given none, or asked about on the command line. Automation
drives the window with tds_import_dialog.

Name clashes, DGNIMPORTMODE and prefixing as the reference names them;
V7 cell copies, unshared cells and mirrored placements as blocks;
justified text and text nodes placed at their justification points with
the reference's MTEXT contents; B-spline curves as splines and 3D arcs and
ellipses in their own planes; every V8 level as a layer; design models
only; reference attachments translated, ignored or attached as underlays.
The colour index palette comes from the codec fix it depends on.

- The page transform is read as 16.16 fixed point held in single precision
and each user-space coordinate as a single-precision value kept to six
decimals, so imported coordinates match the reference to the last digit.
- Paths wholly outside the page (crop box) or the current clip are left out.
- The page's /UserUnit scales the import.
- Unreadable files (no trailer, empty, not a PDF) print the "This file
cannot be opened." block; encrypted files are asked for again silently.
- Page prompt: digits only, "There is no N in <file>." past the last page;
page list prompt keeps asking with "Please enter page number or *.".
- Automation: pdf_import_pick (the path the next PDF picker returns) and
pdf_import_dialog (page / on_screen / scale / rotation / ok / cancel).

Opening a drawing no longer drops entities with its own sanity checks or
rewrites knotless splines; recovery runs the codec's repair and records
its actions and unresolved issues in the drawing's notifications. Xref
merges keep every entity. The dropped-entity counts, their command-line
warnings, recovery report rows and the automation "purged" field go with
the guard.
AUDIT now reports the codec's audit (counts plus the first 50 issues) and
asks whether to fix; Yes applies the codec repair as one undo step.

EED names its application by APPID handle. Copying between drawings
(paste, COPYTO, block palette insert, REFEDIT) kept the source
drawing's handles, so the saved DWG named APPIDs it did not have and
the reference program refused to open it (xdata.cpp eInvalidInput).
The copy now carries the APPID records its XDATA names, registers the
missing ones, and re-points the EED at them.
COPYTO also skipped every layer the target lacked (the check tested
the source) and filled the target with the whole linetype catalog; it
now copies the missing layers and loads only the linetypes used.

Resolve entities' XDATA class-identity keys through the live plugin manager
(new `src/plugin/entity_labels.rs`) and qualify display types as
"<Label> (<Native>)" wherever the bare native type is shown today.
- The single-entity Properties panel title (and the node graph, which shares
the same computation) becomes e.g. "Linear Element (Line)". Host-owned
classifications (xref, dynamic constraints, underlays, surfaces) keep the
native parenthesized part, so nothing they tell the user is lost.
- The records API's `entities` collection: `display_type` carries the
qualified label; the raw `type` / `record_type` fields stay native so
existing scripts, type filters, and by-type grouping keep working.
- The automation entity summary gains a `display_type` field with the same
semantics; `type` stays raw. Exposed by `query`, `user_select` sessions,
and `get_selection`.
Semantics: the identity (a stable class KEY like "CVIFC-CLASS:LINE") lives
in the entity's XDATA and round-trips the drawing; the display LABELS live
in the declaring plugin's manifest. Keys only — no display text is ever
written to the file, and the label never governs behavior (display-only: it
does not affect snapping, selection, filtering, or grouping). Gating rides
live manager state at query time, so without a loaded declaring plugin every
surface here is byte-identical to today, immediately after any reopen, with
no re-assert pass. The command-line LIST output deliberately stays on the raw
dxf name. An app id claimed by more than one loaded plugin resolves through
the first-loaded declaration and debug-logs the ignored duplicate; a
prefix-only value, an unknown key, or an empty label mapping fall back to
the native type.
Tests: resolver core (known key, foreign app ignored, record without an
identity value ignored, prefix-only / unknown key / empty label fallback,
duplicate app id first-wins), the empty-manager gating end-to-end through
`with_manager`, the "<Label> (<Native>)" form, and the byte-identical
fallbacks asserted at the panel, records, and query layers for entities
stamped with a perfect identity record.

variables and the profile settings they are kept in.

The DGN V7/V8 readers expose each element (level, symbology, geometry,
complex chains, text nodes, shared cells). DGNIMPORT / -DGNIMPORT convert a
model with the Standard mapping into a new drawing; IMPORT opens the
Import File window and routes PDF and DGN files to their importers.

A request settles once the work it started reports back, and waits for
any open or save in progress. When that never happens the bridge stayed
busy: every later request, `cancel` included, was refused until the app
was killed. `cancel` now ends the active command and closes any pending
request as cancelled, not only interactive picks. (#1801)

TEXT and MTEXT objects are merged into one MTEXT (top-down or in
selection order, word-wrapped or one paragraph per object, with the
original pitch kept as line spacing) or each TEXT and MTEXT line becomes
an MTEXT of its own. The SEttings option opens the Combine Text settings
dialog; the settings persist as profile values and are exposed as the
TXT2MTXT* variables and the txt2mtxt_settings automation action.

The table model and its file codec now live in `codec::plot_style`
(opencadcodec#53) and are re-exported here. What stays is where tables
come from: the plot styles folder, the session registry, the shipped
tables, and saving to disk, as the `PlotStyleTableExt` trait.

BATTMAN and ATTMAN open a manager for the attribute definitions of one
attributed block: block chips with reference counts and a pick button,
a table whose columns are chosen with chips, move up/down, remove, and
an edit card (Attribute / Text / Properties) for the selected row. Apply,
OK and Sync write the list back to the block definition and, when asked,
rebuild the existing references keeping values through tag renames;
each is one undo step. Live changes are taken back on Cancel. Automation
gains attman_dialog.

The name card draws the selected objects, or the existing definition the
name picks. OK with no objects shows an in-window band offering to select
objects or to define an empty block. A switch opens the new block in the
block editor once it is defined; it is remembered with the other dialog
choices. Automation gains block_def_dialog.

The resident wire sets were capped at 16 and cleared once more were
held. A layout with more content viewports than that (24 in the report)
cleared them all on each redraw and re-tessellated the model for every
viewport, so the layout stayed sluggish even when nothing changed. The
cap now covers the shown layout's viewports: idle redraws build no
wires, and a frame of that layout draws in ~14 ms instead of ~30 ms
plus ~100 ms of rebuilds.
The automation bridge gains a `layout_switch` action, as clicking a
layout tab does, which is how this was measured.

The guard remembered only the last announced (tab, generation), so
switching A -> B -> A announced A's load again. Each tab now carries
its own pending flag, set when a document is installed and cleared by
the boundary dispatch.

Reference-only entities (plugin API v9): a scene-scoped, in-memory
designation for plugin-owned display geometry, plus HostNotification
dispatch to native plugins so they can re-mark on DocumentOpened.
Resolves the new DeltaSnapshot site in block_editor.rs.

Close the no-load-callback gap: on_notification was a dead dispatch sink —
a plugin had no way to learn that the active document changed, the selection
changed, or that a document opened, so runtime designations could not be
re-seeded after a load.
Dispatch the existing plain variants at the fingerprint-guarded boundaries
the v4 bridge already uses: DocumentChanged (the active tab's settled
geometry epoch) and SelectionChanged (the selection set) leave through
BuiltinPlugin::on_notification at the post-message boundary — after the
mutation settles and pending history scopes closed, never mid-undo or
mid-pick — and at the automation post-op boundary. Plugin-initiated writes
publish immediately after settling, like the drawing-changed event; the
boundary fingerprint guard deduplicates.
Add the additive HostNotification::DocumentOpened { tab_id } variant
(discriminant 10, the counterpart of DocumentTabClosed): fired exactly once
per whole-document install — file open, template new, system open — keyed on
a new per-tab document generation, so an edit can never repeat it and a
reload fires it once. The API version stays v9 (the bump is unreleased).
Write semantics for handlers, tested and documented: a handler may call
HostApi write methods through the same session (set_reference_only at
minimum); its write bumps the epoch, the next boundary notifies once more,
and because re-marking already-designated geometry is a documented no-op —
no epoch bump, no undo step, no publish — the loop terminates. History
(undo/redo) replay itself emits nothing; the boundary is the only channel.
No Python mapping, like the rest of this increment.
Preview the current unsaved block in a disposable drawing with independent history. Keep normal Draw tools available, append Close Test Block, and return to the original editor without saving. Guard persistence paths and handle refresh and parent-close lifecycle by stable document identity.
Every weight under 0.26 mm was clamped to the screen's 1 px floor before
the PDF and SVG exporters saw it, so 0.00, 0.09, 0.13 and 0.25 mm all
plotted alike. The floor now applies on the GPU only.

A lone Alt shows a code on every ribbon tab and quick-access button.
Typing a tab code opens the tab and shows the codes of its buttons,
dropdowns, slide-outs and collapsed panels; a button code runs it, a
dropdown or slide-out code opens it and shows its item codes, Esc goes
back one level. Codes follow the reference ribbon; buttons without a
reference counterpart get none and unnamed menu items are numbered.
Codes are drawn as accent pills over the widgets that reported their
bounds in the current frame, with a hint bar under the ribbon. While
the tips are open keys go to them only. The automation gets a keytips
action and read operation.

REFEDIT opens a dialog after the pick: the nesting chain as chips with a
preview of the chosen definition, all objects or picking them in the
drawing, attribute definitions (offered only when the definition has
them), locking objects outside the working set and unique names for an
external reference's named objects. The settings are remembered.
With unique names an xref's dependent layers, linetypes, text styles and
blocks are checked out as $N$NAME records of their own; without, under
the plain name, sharing a host record of that name. Save writes them back
under the reference's names, and the records made for the session are
removed when it closes. -REFEDIT uses the remembered settings.

IMAGEADJUST (alias IAD) takes the selected raster images or asks
"Select image(s):", then opens a dialog with a before/after preview of
the first image and brightness, contrast and fade rows (bar plus

image as one undo step; restore defaults sets 50/50/0. Adds the
image_adjust automation action and the image-adjust locale group.

The web build has no font folder, so a text style whose TrueType file is
not a bundled Noto subset falls back to it. font_register takes the file
from the host page:
{"op":"font_register","file_name":"Brand-Regular.ttf","data_base64":"…"}
The faces join the font database, file_name resolves to the family of
the first face (case-insensitive, without directory, like installed
fonts), and open drawings lay their text out again (fallback glyph
cache cleared, text geometry invalidated per tab). The reply names the
family and the number of faces. Bytes without a face fail with
font_invalid. SysFonts::by_file becomes updatable for this.

TXTEXP replaces each selected TEXT and MTEXT with one polyline per
glyph contour, on the text's layer and with its properties: a
lightweight polyline for flat text, a 3D polyline for tilted text.
The outlines come from the same glyph tessellation the text renders
with, so stroke fonts give their strokes and outline fonts their
closed contours.

A non-associative hatch's boundary vertex grips now offer Add Vertex and
Remove Vertex next to Stretch, on polyline boundaries and on boundaries
made of line edges alike. Add Vertex inserts the vertex after the picked
one, halfway along the next segment (on the arc for a bulged polyline
segment, splitting its bulge), and lets it be placed like any grip.
Remove Vertex drops it while keeping at least a triangle.
Line-edge boundaries used to show two grips at every corner (one line's
end, the next one's start), so dragging one opened the loop; each corner
is now one grip that moves both ends.
The automation grip_menu_pick action chooses an entry of the open grip
menu, so these edits can be scripted and checked.

The new pointer op sends moves (canvas pixels, or a world point projected
through the camera the cursor edits with), button presses/releases and
wheel steps in order, and reports the cursor's world point after each, so
grip drags and picks go through the same cursor path as the mouse.
click now projects through that editing camera too (it used the model
camera inside an entered viewport), and the grips read reports each
grip's constraint axis.

Expose creation fields, constraints and examples for the 11 supported types without expanding startup tool schemas. Share the creation contract and constructor with execution to keep accepted inputs consistent.

A layout opened for the first time - one whose sheet viewport had to be
made, or one created in this session - gets a viewport centred on the
printable area, 0.8 of its width and height, zoomed to the model's

ON/OFF or 1/0 and is kept with the settings.

- The Image tab gains an Adjust card: X/Y offset in pixels (-2000..2000)
and X/Y scale (-10..10, tenth steps, a negative scale mirrors, zero keeps
the image's scale) with spinners and Reset, inactive while the image is
stretched; Keep aspect ratio is a switch and makes both scales follow.
- The preview shows the image at its offset and scale, tiled when tiled,
and a stretched image kept to its aspect ratio covers the view.
- Automation: step=<field>,+1|-1 and reset; offset/scale take any numbers.
- Shaded with edges, Shades of Gray and Sketchy have catalog entries in
every language.

The web control channel gains a save operation that serializes the

download; while it is set no file picker opens.

- The background image texture is not an sRGB view: the image is drawn with
its own colours, as the solid and gradient colours are.
- An entered paper-space viewport shows its named visual style (Realistic,

viewport's visual style.
- The view_background automation action takes offset=x,y and scale=x,y.
