- IGES import (kernel iges_in, from the published specification). The file
is restated as STEP and read by the STEP reader, so an IGES file becomes
the same Import base feature.
- Manifold solid B-reps (186/514/510/508/504/502).
- Trimmed (144), bounded (143) and bare B-spline surfaces, sewn into a
solid by shared edges, with face orientation made consistent.
- Curves: lines, arcs, ellipses, composite and rational B-spline curves.
- Surfaces: planes, analytic surfaces 190-198, B-spline surfaces,
surfaces of revolution and tabulated cylinders.
- Transformations, units, colours, names (406 form 15 or labels).
Open, insert and drop .igs/.iges like STEP.
- IGES export (kernel iges_out): each body as a manifold solid B-rep on the
surfaces a STEP export uses, with name properties and colours.
ExportCommand to .igs.
- OBJ import as mesh bodies: objects/groups, polygons fanned, negative
indices, bad lines reported.
- STL: binary files whose header starts with "solid" and those with a zero
triangle count read as binary; non-finite vertices dropped; facet
normals ignored; ASCII with non-UTF-8 names. Mesh bodies get consistent
winding (stray inverted facets turned over).
- Tests: primitives and features round-trip through IGES (volume, area,
name, colour). Six trimmed patches sew into a closed box. Hostile IGES,
OBJ and STL inputs never panic. STL quirks. The engine exports a design
to IGES and opens it again. All 76 oracle parts round-trip through IGES
with matching volume (local check).

What a component holds moves with its occurrence, and picks in the world land in the
component's frame:
- Sketches and construction planes show where their component is placed (free move, joint
drive, Capture Position); sketch.inspect reports sketch points in the world.
- frames.rs maps a command's world picks into the frame of the body they lie on (through the
inverse of its placement: a moved component or a pasted instance), points that make new
geometry into the active component's frame, and directions with them; instance body names
("Body1 (Pin:2)") become the component's body. Fillet/chamfer edges, shell/offset/draft
faces, face extrude/revolve, sketch on face, holes, sheet metal and plastic picks, primitives,
appearance faces, analyses. Once per command (not again for commands run by commands); the
active-frame fallback stays for commands without a table. Nothing changes while every
placement is the identity.
- component.move_bodies keeps a body where it is in the world (Document.body_offsets: from the
new component's frame to the one it was made in; renames and deleted components follow).
- The UI reads the placed model (Session::world_state) for display, picking, sketch editing and
dialogs; live previews use it once anything is placed.
Tests (engine): sketches and construction planes move (and turn) with the component; world
picks fillet, sketch, hole and make boxes in a moved component; a pick on a pasted instance;
move_bodies keeps the world place there and back; a sketch on a face follows a Move feature.
QA's s34 now runs.

Fold: the bend line (a sketch line), an optional stationary side, Bend Line Position
(centerline, start, end, outside mould line), angle (on the canvas), bend radius (default from
the rule) and flip; live preview and Edit Feature (folds made from two points keep them). Its
own icon; listed after Hem on the SHEET METAL tab and in the timeline.
Configurations: Add Column lists parameters and features to pick, Add Row names the new row
Configuration<N> when no name is typed, bare numbers show with their parameter's unit, the row
name comes before its Activate button, and Enter commits a cell instead of closing the panel.
Motion Study: steps default to the engine's 100, the key's value row is "Value" and Enter there
commits the key (OK makes the study).
Scenarios s22 (fold, flat pattern, DXF; the expected volume is the folded sheet's, the bend
keeping the neutral layer), s23 (configurations) and s24 (motion study) now run.

Wired to solvecraft-params' contact, motion, explode and configuration commands (verified under Xvfb: a study keyed 0 to 60 deg plays, an explosion previews and OK keeps it, Activate switches configurations, Check collisions lists overlaps):
- Contact Set: components to a new set; the sets with suppress and delete; contact on/off;
Check collisions (contact.check).
- Motion Study: tracks of keyed joint values on a strip under the steps, keys added and edited
at the playhead, a step slider with Play; the pose at the step is shown (motion.play on a
scratch copy, as pending moves) and put back when the dialog closes.
- Exploded View: a scale slider showing the explosion live; OK creates and shows the view.
- Configurations: the table (rows by columns of parameters and suppressed features), cells
edited in place, Activate per row, rows and columns added and removed.
The ASSEMBLE panel lists the motion and contact commands once they exist. Tests for the pose,
table and study mappings.

Joint dialog: picked origins mate as in Fusion, B's z opposite A's (two top faces put B upside
down on A, not inside it; a pin goes into its hole); the dialog's Flip turns B the other way
(sent as the command's flip, which turns B over from coinciding frames). Edit Joint shows the
same. Found by solvecraft-sketchux's scenarios.
Drive Joints: the first value box takes the keyboard with its text selected when the dialog
opens, so typing 90 and Enter drives the joint (found by solvecraft-sketchux).
Appearance: "In This Design" from appearance.list (in_design) when the engine has it; faces are
sent as face targets once the engine knows them.
Tests: face snaps mate face to face and Flip undoes it; typing into Drive Joints drives.

Library swatches by category (the engine's library when it offers one, else built-in looks:
metals, plastics, paints, woods, glass with opacity), the looks in this design, a colour picker
and opacity, and the objects to apply to (bodies/components or faces). A swatch dragged onto a
body or face in the viewport, or onto a body's row in the Browser, applies at once; Apply and
OK give the picked objects the current look; pre-selected bodies become the objects.
Browser: rows under a drag of another kind count as hovered, and the Browser's own drops no
longer swallow other payloads (egui's take_payload takes any type), so swatches dropped on its
rows land.

Clicking OK during the Joint dialog's motion animation was lost about half the time: the
preview's busy spinner came and went in the dialog footer between frames, shifting the
automatic ids of OK and Cancel, so a click pressed in one frame and released in the next landed
on two different ids. The spinner's place is now always taken. Reproduced through the control
channel (6 of 14 OK clicks at different animation phases lost before, 0 of 14 after) and
covered by a test that presses OK with the preview busy and releases it once idle.
The Joints folder is drawn by component_rows for the root, after its folders (as agreed with
solvecraft-shell).

Start page (shown on launch without a file, and from the house button in the application bar):
New Design, Open, recent designs (kept in the preferences, newest first) and built-in samples,
each card with a picture rendered from the design in the background. Samples are scripts of
engine commands: the sample plate plus a sheet metal bracket, a hinge assembly with a revolute
joint, a plastic enclosure (lip, bosses, rest, snap fit), a bolted flange with a parametric
circular pattern and a vent plate with a parametric rectangular pattern (test: all build
without a failing feature).
Several open designs as tabs in the application bar: each keeps its own session (undo,
selection), camera and hidden/shown items; + and Ctrl+N open a new design, opening a file or a
sample uses a new tab unless the current design is blank, closing a tab with unsaved changes
asks Save / Don't Save / Cancel. Control channel: ui.documents and ui.home (docs/control-protocol.md).

- Bodies export (STEP, 3MF) in the colour they are shown in: an appearance,
else the physical material's look, else the colour the body was imported
with (Document::body_color / painted). Physical materials used to export
no colour at all.
- AppearanceCommand (Modify): a colour per body ("#rrggbb" or [r, g, b];
null follows the material again), kept in the design and across renames.
- Material looks move to solvecraft-doc (material_color); the viewport draws
appearance, material or imported colour, as exported.
- Engine test: brass and red ABS bodies export, re-import with their RGB, and
keep it through open and export again.
