Open and Save use parented AsyncFileDialog sheets; their answers run on the UI thread in a later frame, so resizing the window while a picker is open no longer re-enters winit and aborts. Editors, tab changes, Close/Quit and model-changing control requests wait for the answer; the local library Open and Export in the Appearance dialog use the same flow. Fixes#1088.
At start, and at most once a day, a background thread asks GitHub for the latest stable
release (one HTTPS GET to releases/latest, nothing else sent; 15 s timeout; silent when
offline; GitHub's rate limit respected). When it is newer than this build, an Update button
appears next to Report a bug. It opens a window with the version, the release notes and
Download (the asset that fits this installation), Skip this version and Remind me later.
- Versions compare as semver; a nightly counts as the release it was built after, so it is
offered only a newer stable release.
- The installation is detected (AppImage, Flatpak, Snap from the store or a file, deb, rpm,
tar.gz, Windows MSI/portable/exe, macOS app); Download picks the fixed-name asset.
Development builds and the Flatpak (no network permission) never check.
- Preferences > General > Updates: Check for updates automatically (on) and Check now.
- HTTP via ureq + rustls with the operating system's certificates (desktop app only).
- docs: Updates and privacy page.

Adds a complete Simplified Chinese (zh) catalog covering every English message, a font fallback for Chinese text, and `cargo xtask i18n --check`, which checks that the complete catalogs (ja, zh) carry every English message and that every command label is translatable.

A design with components and joints exports as a URDF robot description (file.export to .urdf, the MCP export tool, solidcraft-cli run --out, File > Export URDF...). It writes one binary STL per component in metres, links with mass, centre of mass and inertia from material density, and maps rigid, revolute, slider, cylindrical, pin-slot, planar and ball joints to URDF joints or short chains. Loops, broken joints and loose parts are reported as warnings. Options: mesh_prefix, effort, velocity. Docs in docs/urdf.md.
* Toolbar drop-downs show all their rows after a shorter list (#874)
A panel's drop-down kept its size by an id made from the panel name alone,
so PLASTIC's MODIFY reused the one-row size of MESH's MODIFY and showed two
rows with a scroll bar. The id now includes the tab, and the rows' scroll area
may grow past the size the area remembered (up to the room below it), which
also covers the same panel collapsed and expanded.

* Keep the Sketch Create menu's own sizing
Its rows sit in egui menus (also inside the overflow menu), where a minimum
height moved the rows between frames. Only the panel drop-downs need it.

Completes the Japanese catalog (all commands, panels, dialogs and preferences) and routes the remaining hard-coded UI labels through the translation lookup. English stays the default.
The feature history can sit in a panel on the left, with folders that hold one unbroken run of features, drag and drop as one undo step, and a resizable divider. Timeline folders save under format 17.
The Sketch Palette's line types are three drawn icons (solid, one gap, gap with a dot) instead of text glyphs, and the construction orange is now chosen by the caller (`fixed_accent` on the toolbar) rather than hardcoded in the icons.
Outside a sketch, a sketch tool's shortcut opens Create Sketch on the selected plane or planar face (or asks for one), then starts that tool in the new sketch.
Dragging a text outline now moves the whole editable text, and Move/Copy shifts or rotates it as one piece (a copy stays independently editable). Content, font, height and outline identities are kept; a drag is one undo step and Esc restores the start.
As soon as a pick settles the dimension (one line, circle or arc, or the second point or line of a distance or angle), its value box takes the keyboard with the measured value selected. The text follows the cursor while typing and Enter places it there (or in its default place), as one undo step. A click before typing pins the text and keeps the box focused, a click on another entity makes a distance or angle, Tab hands back to placing first, Esc cancels. Letters go into the box, not to tool shortcuts.

The loading box was a full-window modal whose backdrop covered the custom title bar. It is now a light overlay under the title bar, so dragging, snapping, resizing and the window buttons keep working during open, import and recovery. The timeline rebuild shows feature N of M, and Cancel or Esc stops it at the next feature (solidcraft_doc::progress). Recovery restore now runs off the window thread too. A control or MCP doc.open or import is answered once the file is in and doesn't block frames; edits sent meanwhile wait their turn. The web build still opens in place.

Sketch Create groups its drawing tools under Line, Rectangle, Circle, Arc, Slot, Polygon and Spline. Each family's main button starts the part's last-used variant and its caret lists the others; choices are per open part, kept across sketch sessions and tab switches, and never touch the design or undo history.

Hold the left button still (long-press on touch) or right-click › Select Other… to list everything under the cursor: sketch points and curves ("Line 3", "Point (arc 2 centre)"), vertices, edges, faces, bodies, profiles, planes and axes, filtered like a click and by the open dialog's active input. Hovering a row lights it up; clicking selects it (Shift/Ctrl add) or feeds the dialog. A repeat click on the same spot with nothing changed selects the next thing there; a double-click keeps its own actions.

* fix(ui): draw sketch constraint glyphs in red
Traditional CAD convention marks constraint glyphs in red. glyph_edge
and glyph_text in both themes now use red values. glyph_bg is
unchanged. The same glyph box switches to the error colour when a
constraint fails. The new reds are chosen to stay distinct from that
error colour. They are also distinct from the blue used for selection
and hover. See the pull request body for the before and after RGB
values and the contrast reasoning.
* fix(ui): match constraint toolbar icons to the red glyph colour
The CONSTRAINTS panel buttons and their drop-down rows drew their accent
strokes in the normal sketch tool green. They now use glyph_text, the same
red the matching constraint glyph box uses in the sketch view. A new
panel_accent helper in toolbar.rs picks the colour: the constraint red for
the CONSTRAINTS panel, the existing sketch green for every other sketch
tool, and the plain accent everywhere else. No other toolbar styling
changed.
A panel label too wide for its panel (beside its caret) wraps between words
onto a second line; a single word wider than the panel stays whole. Each line
is centred, and the label's hover area grows to hold both lines. A panel's
buttons are centred in the panel, so a one-button panel such as Finish Sketch
lines its icon up with its label.

A panel drop-down taller than the window ran past its bottom edge, so the
last rows (Sketch → Create → Intersect and below) could not be reached. The
rows now scroll inside the window, and a row reached with the arrow keys
scrolls into view. Row ids no longer depend on the enclosing Ui, so the
keyboard focus still finds them inside the scroll area.
* Toolbar: no cap on pinned buttons (Fixes#323)
Every pinned command gets a toolbar button; `promoted()` is only the
default layout of a fresh or reset toolbar. A toolbar too narrow for every
button now collapses panels into their drop-down (one button that opens it,
listing every command, pinned ones included) from the right, then moves the
last panels into the » menu, instead of pushing a wide panel and everything
after it into ». Nothing is dropped.
Scenario s48 pins ten commands into SOLID > CREATE: all ten show at a wide
window, a narrow one collapses CREATE into its drop-down (all ten listed),
narrower still puts it in », and Reset Toolbar restores the defaults.

The Home page hides the open design, yet Save, Undo, Redo, File › Insert,
Save As and Export, and the design's keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+S/Z/Y,
Delete, V, F2, F6, Esc, S and tool keys such as E) still acted on it:
Delete removed the selected body unseen, Save wrote a design the user
could not see, and tool keys left Home without being asked to.
On Home the top bar's Save, Undo and Redo are dimmed with a translated
"open a design first" tooltip, the File menu's design items are greyed
out, and only New, Open and Preferences keep their shortcuts. Everything
works as before once Home is closed.

* Toolbar drop-downs highlight the row under the pointer and the keyboard focus (#288)
A panel drop-down's command rows are full-width rows that take the theme's hover background
(icon, label and shortcut on it) when hovered or focused. Up/Down move the focus through the
enabled rows, Enter starts the command, Escape closes the drop-down. Rows publish
`dropdown:<id>` and the highlighted one `dropdown_hot:<id>`; scenario s46 checks pointer and
keyboard highlight.

* Toolbar: drag commands from drop-downs onto the toolbar; pin icon; Customize Toolbar… (#289)
- A panel drop-down row drags onto the toolbar (a button or a panel's free space, with the
drop line) and is pinned there; the dragged command's icon follows the pointer.
- A toolbar button dragged off the toolbar, or back into the open drop-down, leaves it (its
icon shows a cross while releasing would remove it).
- A hovered drop-down row shows a pin at its end: click to pin or unpin.
- Right-click on the toolbar's empty space: Customize Toolbar… (a window listing the tab's
commands with check boxes, and Reset Toolbar) and Reset Toolbar; command menus have
Customize Toolbar… too.
- Still per workspace and tab, kept with the preferences. Toolbar buttons also publish
`button:<id>`; scenario s47 drags a row to the toolbar, unpins by dragging off and into the
drop-down, uses the pin icon and Customize Toolbar…, and checks it survives a restart.

Pages: General (theme Dark/Light/System, UI scale, units of new designs, autosave, display
precision, the agent cursor), Navigation (Fusion, SolidWorks, Inventor, Alias and Tinkercad
mouse presets, reverse zoom, zoom to the cursor, orbit centre, view-change animation on/off and
speed), Keyboard Shortcuts (the old Shortcuts window as a page: search, rebind, conflicts),
Design (default modelling orientation Y up / Z up for #3, and the offer to stand up a Y-up STEP
or IGES file: a quarter turn about X as one undoable Move), Graphics, Sketch, Selection.
Changes apply at once; Cancel or Esc puts back what was there when the dialog opened, Apply
keeps them, OK closes, Restore Defaults resets the page. The theme, ground shadow and agent
cursor settings are now kept between runs. File and Help › Keyboard Shortcuts open the page;
the unused docked Preferences dialog is gone. Control: ui.prefs {open, button, stand_up, …}.

The title bar's ×, File ▸ Quit, the OS closing the window (Alt+F4, Cmd+Q, the window manager:
close_requested is cancelled until the designs are answered) and app.quit / ui.window close all
go through documents::request_quit, which asks Save / Don't Save / Cancel once per design with
unsaved changes. Save saves (Save As for a never-saved design) and quits only if it saved; Don't
Save discards (no recovery copy is kept); Cancel or Esc stays open. Closing a tab asks the same
question (now titled "Save changes to <name>?"); New and Open never replace an unsaved design
(they open a tab). The web app asks through beforeunload while a design is unsaved. Control:
ui.documents {action: quit, answer: save|dont_save|cancel}, app.quit {force}. Tests: quit with
Save then Don't Save across two tabs, Cancel, a Save that saves nothing, Save As; scenario
s43_quit_asks_to_save.

The old ids live only in crates/engine/src/legacy_ids.rs (the legacy migration table): find_command maps them, so old scripts, recipes and control calls keep working, and saved shortcuts, recent and pinned commands are migrated on load (designs store no command ids). Parity maps the observed catalog ids to ours through xtask/data/fusion-ids.tsv. The agent rule now reads: our own dotted id, never another product's. Cargo.toml's repository points at github.com/bherbruck/solvecraft.
