Tapered extrudes accept profiles that mix lines and tangent arcs (slots, D-profiles, rounded rectangles): each arc keeps its centre and angles and its radius moves with the taper, so its side stays an exact cone; lines are offset and mitred. An arc meeting another edge at a corner is still refused. Un-ignores the #546 regression test. Fixes#546.

Draft extends the picked faces to every face on the same surface, so one pick on a cylinder's side (stored as two halves) drafts the whole round wall into a frustum. Un-ignores the #547 regression test and adds a kernel test for a round hole. Fixes#547.

An extrude cut or join only extends its tool past an end that lies on a target face, and by less than half the way to the next face level, so a tool can no longer cut through a thin floor beyond an end that touches no face. Un-ignores the #545 and #544 regression tests. Fixes#545.

Inscribed, circumscribed and edge polygon tools preview their actual outline (side count and orientation) while drawing, with the current line type, instead of only the support circle. Preview work is bounded. Fixes#520.

sheet.fold tests its fixed point against the whole sheet body, so a point far above or below the sheet is refused atomically, while a point on any face (including a flange's leg) still works. A stored fold whose point ends up in the air recomputes, keeps its side and warns. Un-ignores the #371 regression test. Fixes#371.

sheet.flat_pattern reports every cut-out exactly in a new cutout_shapes list, parallel to cutouts: a round hole as a circle, other cut-outs as their lines, arcs and (for other curves) polylines. Pockets get the same. The DXF writer and the JSON share one circle test. Un-ignores the #542 regression test. Fixes#542.

A scheduled/manual CI job scans locked dependencies for advisories, bans and unknown sources with cargo-deny 0.20.2 (never on pull requests, contents: read, no secrets). The first scan flagged quick-xml 0.38.4 (RUSTSEC-2026-0194/0195), so the workspace moves to quick-xml 0.41. Fixes#468.

Hidden bodies, occurrence placements, sketches and origin items are saved with the design and come back when it is reopened. Visibility is still not an undo step, but hiding or showing something now counts as an unsaved change. Additive field under format 16. Fixes#531.

Construction axes, points and planes resolve their picks against the model as their component sees it (in the root, every placement, pasted instances too), and a Hole picked on another component's body cuts that body. components-arm 355 -> 502/594 and joints-hinge 304/390 -> 371/408 in the action matrix.

Construction (X) keeps the active sketch tool, its picked points and inline values while switching line type, and drawing previews and hover show the same dashed pattern as committed construction and centre lines. Fixes#584 and #581.

sheet.flange refuses the sheet values its rule owns (thickness, K-factor, bend radius, reliefs, hem gap) instead of silently ignoring them, and says to use a rule. Un-ignores the #570 regression test. Fixes#570.

A stored fold whose fixed point drifts off the sheet after a parameter change keeps the side the point lies on and shows a warning instead of breaking the timeline. A new fold still refuses a fixed point off the sheet, atomically. Un-ignores the #370 regression test. Fixes#370.

A copy added by raising a body pattern's count after a rename is numbered after the highest stored copy, so it no longer takes the number the rename freed. Un-ignores the #372 regression test and adds one for undo/redo and save/reopen. Fixes#372.

Refs #303. file.save / file.save_as can store a warm native geometry cache (cache: true, off by default) keyed to the document hash, app version and adapter revision. Opening shows a bounded preview from it until the rebuilt session replaces it. Any cache failure counts as a miss.
ui.at {plane} now returns the middle of the origin plane's square, or else the middle of a quarter that a click actually picks, so scripted clicks on XY no longer start a sketch on XZ from iso-like views.
apps/solidcraft-cli/tests/action_matrix.rs tries sketch, offset/angle/mid planes, press pull, extrude from a face, hole, draft, shell, fillet, chamfer, axes, points, planes, projection, move, copy, mirror and pattern on the final bodies of 104 designs (the old design files, the examples, the 76 reference recipes, the enclosure demos, the Pi case built through the UI, eight typical parts), through the commands and picks the desktop sends, each design in its own process, with an edit round on a sample of passes. tests/action_matrix/baseline.json is a ratchet: an action that passed there and fails now fails the test; newly passing ones are reported for cargo xtask action-matrix --bless. Every CI run checks a fixed sample; the nightly Action matrix job runs the whole matrix in four parts. 30,567 of 35,576 actions pass (85.9%); results and causes in docs/action-matrix.md, one ignored reproduction per open cause (#556-#568).

Fixes#374. Feature replies gain created_bodies: the bodies the new feature made, apart from the ones it changed or that were already there. Documented in the execute tool description and docs/mcp.md.
Fixes#478. Desktop Ctrl/Cmd +/-/0 now update the saved UI scale instead of flashing back, and the Preferences scale slider applies the new layout on release (range 50-250%, matching the preference validation). Addresses the drag jitter in #272.
Fixes#527. Bodies are paired by a sort-and-sweep over their bounding boxes, and the cap moves from 200 bodies to 20,000 overlapping pairs per call (reported as truncated / skipped_pairs).
sketch.text and sketch.edit_text take an optional font: an installed family or a .ttf/.otf/.ttc file. Edit Text gets a Font field. The font is kept with the text under format 16; no fonts are bundled, and the font search is bounded.

solid.move takes copy: true to keep the source bodies and transform a new copy of each, with a Create Copy box in the Move dialog. Designs without it save and load exactly as before.
Display meshes also bound the angle one facet turns, so bends and small holes on a large body are drawn round instead of as chamfers or squares. Bounded per face, and only the display mesh changes.

Sheet Metal Rules get a Corner Relief Shape (notch, round or rectangular), sized by the rule's corner relief, cut where two bends meet at a corner of the base. Notch, the default, keeps existing designs as they were. File format 16.

Text outlines count as drawn geometry when picking profiles, and "all profiles" leaves out the counters of letters (the holes of A, B, 8), so text extrudes as letters with their holes whether or not other curves are drawn next to it.

When a body that was already cut into pieces is cut again, the new pieces are numbered past the names already taken ("Bar (2)"), instead of reusing "Bar (1)".

A SolidCraft-owned portable B-rep schema (geometry schema 2 with analytic curves and surfaces, explicit frames and ranges, fitted intersection curves) and a versioned body envelope (SCBREP03) with its own metadata records, a bounded binary codec, a validator with resource budgets, and an adapter that refuses what it can't convert exactly. Pinned by a box-and-fillet golden fixture. Not yet written by application saves. Refs #303.
When sample points say two bodies are apart or one is inside the other, the facetings are now checked for surfaces passing through each other; if they do, the boolean is computed instead of shortcut. If it still can't be intersected, the sampled answer is kept as a flagged, unverified result, and Interference lists such pairs as "could not be checked" with the reason. Fixes#442 and #443.

A hole positioned on a face now follows that face along the hole's own axis instead of sliding to the face's nearest point. When the face no longer reaches the position, the hole stays where it was placed and the feature says so.

When adjacent profiles are merged for one extrude, collinear lines on either side of where a shared boundary ended are joined back into one edge, so the body has no split faces or extra vertices for later booleans to trip on.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
Two line segments that lie on one another within the tolerance, a hair from parallel, no longer report a crossing somewhere along their overlap; the ends of the overlap split the edges instead. This stops booleans from leaving sub-tolerance edges or stray vertices.

Every Options row puts its control in one right-aligned column, Look At is a single label with an icon button, Options folds with a disclosure triangle, and the toggles use plain nouns (with dedicated ids for Profile and Points so they don't collide with other labels).
The Linetype buttons now read "Draw as {linetype}" with nothing selected and "Convert the selection to {linetype}" with a selection, in all four locales.
Bump the workspace to 0.7.0 and write the 0.7.0 release notes. Minor bump: the design format moved to 15 (sketches on cylinder caps and sheet metal panels), so 0.6 can't open 0.7 saves, and new features landed (Select Other, per-edge flanges, sketches on caps and sheet metal faces).
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <[email protected]>
A profile traced over a face sketch's projected boundary left the extrude's caps and sides without an exact planar source, so a sketch or offset plane on the new top face was refused. The drawn curve is now the edge's source where it covers a projection. Clearer fixed-plane message; regression tests in the engine, UI harness and design corpus, plus a corpus-wide flat-face attachment check (known gaps under #491-#495).

Hold the left button still (long-press on touch) or right-click › Select Other… to list everything under the cursor: sketch points and curves ("Line 3", "Point (arc 2 centre)"), vertices, edges, faces, bodies, profiles, planes and axes, filtered like a click and by the open dialog's active input. Hovering a row lights it up; clicking selects it (Shift/Ctrl add) or feeds the dialog. A repeat click on the same spot with nothing changed selects the next thing there; a double-click keeps its own actions.

Replace the 0.2.1 enclosure recording with a 40 s take of the current desktop UI building a Raspberry Pi 4 case: a sketch dimensioned with the board's parameters, extrude, fillets and shell, an M2.5 standoff patterned on the 58 x 49 mm hole rectangle, port cut-outs, floor vents, a colour, then height 24 -> 32 mm in Parameters. The demo script gains the pi story (now the default).

Profiles revolved together merge into one region that keeps a vertex where
each shared edge met the axis. With the axis edge in several pieces the loop
skipped the builders for a profile with an edge on the axis, and the generic
sweep turned each piece into a degenerate face that booleans failed on.
Runs of collinear axis lines are merged into one first.

* fix: name an untitled design after its file on save and open
Design tabs all read "Untitled" because a design's name only ever came
from file.new. Saving a design still under the default name now names it
after the file (bracket.solidcraft -> "bracket"), and opening a file whose
stored name is the default shows its file name. Names chosen by the user
are kept. The rename is part of the save, so it is not an undo step and
does not leave the design marked as changed.

The live preview also evaluates each command as a new body, to show the tool of a join or cut
(as_new_body sets every `operation` to "new"). A combine has no new-body form: its operation is
between bodies that already exist, and solid.combine rejects "new" ("operation must be join, cut
or intersect"). That error became the preview's error even when the combine itself worked, and
since OK is greyed while the preview has an error, a combine could not be applied from its
dialog at all. as_new_body now leaves solid.combine alone, so its preview shows the result.

`fit: reduce` acts only on refusals marked too large. Three kinds weren't:
the corner build's contact lines leaving their faces or running backwards,
and a curved chain's contact reaching past the end of the seam it trims. Two
more were hidden: a later edge's too-large refusal lost to an earlier edge's
other error, and the corner build's lost to the local blend's in `fillet`.
The messages are unchanged.
