bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 50a74ac66d Agent cursor: a violet pointer labelled Agent acts out control-channel and MCP commands. It glides to the command's toolbar button (or its panel) and clicks with a ripple, then to each pick (faces, edges and points projected to the screen, sketch points, a new sketch's plane, the profiles an extrude takes), then the command runs; the reply waits for it and later requests queue behind. Speed instant/normal/slow; follow camera turns to a new sketch and back on finish. View settings on the navigation bar (Show Agent Cursor, speed, follow camera; remembered, off by default); ui.agent_cursor {show, speed, follow_camera}; "animate": false per call. Tests: pick to screen mapping; scenario with the cursor on (replies wait for the animation) matching the cursor-off result

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 bf2b64f597 Releases offer plain programs; the licences are built in
Release assets are now the programs themselves: SolveCraft and solvecraft-cli .exe for Windows,
plain Linux binaries plus the AppImage, a macOS .dmg (SolveCraft.app with an Applications link) and
the universal CLI binary; only the web app stays a zip. The notes template takes {tag}, says to
chmod +x on Linux and macOS, and GitHub adds the change list.

Since no LICENSE or NOTICE file rides along any more, the programs carry them:
THIRD-PARTY-LICENSES.txt (written by `cargo xtask licences` from cargo metadata and each shipped
crate's own licence files, 419 crates; `cargo xtask ci` checks it is current) is embedded with
LICENSE-MIT, LICENSE-APACHE and NOTICE in solvecraft_engine::licences, shown in Help ▸ About ▸
Licences (third-party text laid out by visible rows) and printed by `solvecraft-cli licences`.
Scenario s44_about_licences.

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 bd8e8c4809 Web: the viewport shader compiles in browsers (a new design no longer shows a black screen)
Fixes #34

The surface-analysis curvature map took screen-space derivatives (dpdx/dpdy) inside a branch
of fs_solid. naga accepts that, but browsers' WGSL compiler (Tint, WebGPU) requires derivatives
in uniform control flow and rejects the whole `sc_viewport` shader module, so every viewport
pipeline was invalid and the viewport stayed black as soon as a design was shown. The
curvature is now worked out first thing in fs_solid and passed in, and the canvas image
shader samples its texture before discarding.

Regression test: every fragment entry point makes derivative and implicit-LOD sampling calls
(directly or through helpers) before any branch or return. Checked in headless Chromium with
WebGPU (SwiftShader): before, "dpdx must only be called from uniform control flow" and invalid
pipelines on New Design; after, no shader or pipeline errors.

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 4562c8e5ba Save prompt on quit: "Save changes to <name>?" for every unsaved design
The title bar's ×, File ▸ Quit, the OS closing the window (Alt+F4, Cmd+Q, the window manager:
close_requested is cancelled until the designs are answered) and app.quit / ui.window close all
go through documents::request_quit, which asks Save / Don't Save / Cancel once per design with
unsaved changes. Save saves (Save As for a never-saved design) and quits only if it saved; Don't
Save discards (no recovery copy is kept); Cancel or Esc stays open. Closing a tab asks the same
question (now titled "Save changes to <name>?"); New and Open never replace an unsaved design
(they open a tab). The web app asks through beforeunload while a design is unsaved. Control:
ui.documents {action: quit, answer: save|dont_save|cancel}, app.quit {force}. Tests: quit with
Save then Don't Save across two tabs, Cancel, a Save that saves nothing, Save As; scenario

An mdBook under docs/book: a user guide (getting started, UI tour, sketching, features,
parameters, components and joints, sheet metal, plastic, files, shortcuts, MCP) and a developer
guide (CONTRIBUTING, architecture, command engine, kernel boundary, persistent naming, test
harnesses, and the existing docs/*.md pages). `cargo xtask book` generates the command reference
from `solvecraft-cli commands` and renders the screenshots with `solvecraft-cli snapshot`, then
runs mdbook. .github/workflows/pages.yml publishes the book at /solvecraft/ and the web app at

`cargo xtask ci` on pull requests. README and Help → Documentation link to the book.

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 d10312b7fd Command ids are SolveCraft's own: 173 ids that were another product's internal command ids become dotted, lower-case ids (<area>.<thing>[.<variant>]: solid.extrude, sketch.rectangle.two_point, sheet.flange, joint.drive, ...), in the registry, toolbar, dialogs, shortcuts, palette, control channel, MCP, examples, scenarios and docs
The old ids live only in crates/engine/src/legacy_ids.rs (the legacy migration table): find_command maps them, so old scripts, recipes and control calls keep working, and saved shortcuts, recent and pinned commands are migrated on load (designs store no command ids). Parity maps the observed catalog ids to ours through xtask/data/fusion-ids.tsv. The agent rule now reads: our own dotted id, never another product's. Cargo.toml's repository points at github.com/bherbruck/solvecraft.

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 740360d7c3 Fillet corners: a radius per edge (kernel::fillet_radii), rounds next to earlier rounds of another radius, and smooth corner patches where three rounds meet
blend_corner.rs rebuilds the planar faces at the ends of the filleted edges (three planar faces and three straight edges at each such vertex) and keeps the rest. One round at a vertex ends in the third face's exact section of its cylinder; two rounds with the third edge sharp trim each other (rolling ball: the crease from where their contact lines cross to the third edge for equal radii, else to the smaller round's contact line on the face that ends the larger one, which gets the exact section between); three rounds meet a sphere for equal radii, else a rational degree-4 patch through plane sections of the cylinders, the sections turned so that the cylinders' curvatures agree where two meet on a face and the patch fitted tangent to all three (within 0.01 degrees) and to the face at its closed corner.

kernel::fillet falls back to it when the local blends refuse: an edge that ends on an earlier round (any radius) takes the round off (delete_faces) and blends both edges together, so r3 next to r2 and a third edge into a mitred pair work. delete_faces: a gap stretch along several deleted faces keeps the corners between them (two rounds meeting in a mitre come off back to the sharp corner). splitface::fit is shared for the crease.

Tests: volumes against the strips-minus-overlap reference (exact strips, overlap integrated; checked against an independent 1D integral), the sphere-octant formula for three equal rounds, tangency along the patch, closed meshes, refusals without panics.

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 c0e3e3d216 Variable-radius and chord-length fillets
New kernel file blend_variable.rs. The hooks into blend.rs are visibility
only: plane_normal, vtx, rebuild_face and unsupported are now pub(crate).
- fillet_variable(body, edge, start, r0, r1) works on the same edge
configuration as the constant fillet (straight edge, planar faces, end
faces square to it). The radius runs linearly from the end nearest
`start`, and every section square to the edge is a circular arc. The
blend is an exact degree (2, 1) rational B-spline: arc control points
  move linearly.
- fillet_chord(body, edges, chord): the radius per edge comes from its
  face angle (chord = 2 r cos(phi/2)).

Fillet feature: style constant | chord | variable {radius2, start};
FusionFilletEdgesCommand takes type, radius2 and start.

Tests:
- Variable 2 -> 5 on a box edge removes (1 - pi/4) L (r0^2 + r0 r1 + r1^2)/3.
Starting from the other end gives the same solid; equal radii give the
constant fillet; too large is refused.
- Chord 4 on a right angle equals radius 4/sqrt(2).
- Engine: both types by command.

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 c9ed3d154d Web files: designs live in the browser (OPFS), files come in by picker or drop and go out as downloads
- solvecraft_io::vfs: the engine's file access (disk natively; in the browser an in-memory set of
files the host loads and stores). File commands and write_atomic go through it.
- Web host (apps/solvecraft-web/src/files.rs): stored designs are read from OPFS at start
(storage.persist() asked for) and written back when a command writes one; Save/Save As keep
designs in the browser, exports (STEP, STL, 3MF, OBJ, ...) download as files.
- File > Open shows "Files in this browser": open, insert, rename, download, delete, plus open or
insert from the computer (showOpenFilePicker where there is one, an <input type=file>
otherwise). Files dropped on the page are inserted or opened.
- Unsaved work is autosaved to OPFS and offered again after a reload or crash.
- Start page recents come from the stored designs, with thumbnails. In the browser the samples
are built when opened (a picture blocks the page there, and a kernel panic can't be caught).
- Pages without OPFS (http on a network address, old browsers) keep designs in local storage.

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 3f44110b59 One frame for every window (frame.rs): command dialogs dock right and shrink to their content (260 to 380 px, 560 for table dialogs), floating windows are centred and capped (460 px, 760 for tables); header and footer rows right-align without stretching the dialog, long texts wrap; all windows migrated; tests: no egui::Window outside frame.rs, every command's dialog and the floating windows measured within limits

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 74c7259825 Face provenance (kernel/src/provenance.rs): trace(result, inputs) tells per result face which input faces it lies on (surface and trimmed region, either side) and whether it was kept, modified, split, merged or generated, and per edge its faces and the input edge it lies on; extrude_origins and revolve_origins name a tool's caps and the profile segment each side sweeps, compose carries them through the boolean, blend_origins gives fillet/chamfer faces their edge and offset_origins gives shell walls the face they offset

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 7027382667 split_faces: exact sketch segments, a face map, and misses named
For solvecraft-params' Split Face feature:
- Sketch tools are chains of Seg2. A single line splits by its plane and a
  single arc by its cylinder, exactly (a circular edge on a planar face);
longer chains and splines follow the curve.
- split_faces_with_map gives the source face of each face of the result.
- A listed face the tool misses is an error naming it (split_any keeps
  the lenient form for Trim).

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 998410de56 Debug builds mesh seam faces and closed edges (vendored meshalgo)
Three step_in tests and two split tests failed in debug builds only:
truck's debug_new asserts simple loops and two distinct end vertices, but
faces whose loop runs a seam edge both ways and full-circle edges on one
vertex are valid. Meshed faces and edges are now built unchecked. ci
(release) was unaffected; the kernel tests pass in debug and release.

bherbruckandClaude Opus 5.5 0a6f6c4422 Insert Part dialog (SOLID > INSERT > Insert Fastener)
The standard parts library by type (with its ISO standard), size and length, the size's table
values and a picture of the part; picking a hole's wall or rim seats it there with a rigid joint
(the live preview shows it seated), without a pick it goes at the origin. Opens on
FusionFastenersCommand (and parts.insert); OK runs FusionFastenersCommand. Its own icon.
Insert's world picks (`at`, `point`, `direction`) go through the component frames like other
picks. Tests for the library parsing and the insert parameters; checked in the app: an M3 socket
head cap screw seated in a drilled hole with its joint.
